COVID-19 UPDATE

Alamo Dog Training remains committed to helping your dog and your family with any training needs and issues that arise in these challenging times. We offer comprehensive training packages, either in-person, in compliance with CDC protocols, as well as online and telephone consultations and support. Our staff stands ready to take your call and discuss your training needs.

Why Us?

Where other dog trainers fail, we succeed. We don’t believe in “hopeless cases” or “difficult breeds.”  Our education and professionalism give us the confidence to offer dogs and their owners that same self-assurance.

Some problematic behaviors we have helped resolve include:

  • Aggression
  • Separation anxiety
  • Leash reactivity
  • Basic obedience
  • Excessive chewing, digging, barking, and scratching
  • Housetraining
  • Typical puppy behavior

We also offer a special training program for expecting parents to help prepare their fur babies for the new addition.

In-home dog training is an important element of our success. It’s been proven time and again that dogs retain their training better when the owner remains involved in the process, and the training is tailored to suit the individual dog’s needs.

Our trainers have studied canine psychology, history, and behavior. Through the Canine Trade Group certification program, we gained hands-on experience with some of the most challenging shelter dogs in the community. We make a point to stay up to date on the latest training methodology so we can put new knowledge and methods to work for our clients immediately.

Choose the Right Puppy for Your Home

Choose the Right Puppy for Your Home

Before choosing a puppy, there are a few things you need to research. If you’ve owned a dog before, you’ll know that the very first thing to consider isn’t the breed of dog but whether your home and lifestyle will allow for one. The important questions are: Can you...

Introducing Your New Dog to an Existing Pet

No, Your Dog is Not a Hopeless Case

No, Your Dog is Not a Hopeless Case

There is no official regulation when it comes to dog training. That means anyone can call themselves a dog trainer, whether they’ve taken pains to educate themselves or not. If someone has the gall to call themselves a professional dog trainer without bothering to put...

What Sets Us Apart..

If you’ve tried training your dog yourself or if you’ve tried other trainers before, we ask that you try again—just one more time. Our program works because we come to you with no preconceived judgment about your dog’s breed, size, age, temperament, or abilities. We believe in our ability to help you communicate with your pup so fully that our in-home training programs are always commitment-based.

What does this mean for you? It means your training will be affordable, and it will be effective. Our trainers will solve your dog’s behavioral problems for one flat fee, as laid out during the initial in-home consultation. If it takes a week, we will be your dedicated trainer for a week. If it takes a month, we will be your dedicated trainer for a month.

The only other thing we will ask for is your commitment in return.

Communication is the cornerstone of any effective training program. For in-home training to work, you must be an active participant in the process. Your dog needs to develop a strong relationship with you and obey commands from you.

After all, it won’t always be your trainer at the other end of the leash. You will need to take the lead—literally. We’re here to show you how.

If your dog could benefit from in-home training by a professional, certified Texas dog trainer, contact Alamo Dog Training today. It starts with a phone call or an e-mail. We’re happy to connect with you and answer any questions. After that, we meet for an in-home consultation where we get to know your pup! Then, the training begins.
