One perk of in-home training with Alamo Dog Training is that if you don’t have the tools you need to train your dog, you will by the time your training program is finished. We believe in spreading knowledge, not hoarding it. If you have a dog that is presenting some behavioral issues and you sign up for our in-home training program, then it’s very likely that you won’t need to call us for your future pups. You’ll already know what to do!

Our in-home training program provides customized, one-on-one training tailored to your dog. We can train multiple dogs at once while also considering your lifestyle. We emphasize trust and communication between you and your pet. We also teach you how to provide structure and consistency in your dog’s daily schedule as well as in their training.

Owner involvement is vital in the success of any in-home dog training program, and you don’t get that with a board-and-train program. Group training can work for introductory training tips and basic obedience lessons. However, if you want an in-depth look at the psychology and methodology behind dog training, you’ll need a one-on-one trainer. If your dog is aggressive or anxious, you’ll need a professional who will come to you.

As you’ll find during our in-home consultation, we don’t believe (for the most part) that there is good and bad behavior. There is simply owner-preferred behavior. Some owners don’t mind if their dogs get on the furniture or jump up in greeting. In-home training allows us to focus only on the behaviors that are causing you and your family stress. Your dog will get all the training they need for your family unit to live harmoniously—nothing more, nothing less.

It’s another feature that group training and boarding can’t offer. Not to mention that sending your dog away to be trained by someone else has never made much sense to us. In-home training allows your dog to remain in their comfort zone, around their daily behavioral triggers, with the people they’ll need to listen to on a daily basis.
